With Spring and Summer right around the corner, now is the time to put a little spring in your step! In less than 10 weeks Summer will be officially standing on our doorstep….YES, only 10 weeks! Now theoretically experts say losing 1-2 pounds per week is safe so I say “Let’s get started!”
If you have been like a bear in a cave all winter like I have, running a triathlon this weekend is most likely not going to happen. For me, it is not going to happen next month either. 🙂 However, we can scoot like a turtle or scurry like a mouse, as long as we just get those legs moving.
One of the easiest ways to jumpstart your fitness routine is to just start walking. Walking has been proven over and over again to be a legitimate way to get fit and lose some pounds in the process. One of the nice things about walking is that you can do it whenever you want.
If you are an early bird, you can walk in the morning before you head out to work. My co-workers and I used to walk on our lunch break. We had a mile and a half block we would walk and a limited amount of time to do it, which was a great way to make us pick up the pace. If your morning and noontime hours are spoken for, an early evening walk is a fantastic way to wind down. It doesn’t matter when you do it as long as you do it!
